All Hail McQueen

Fashion’s biggest party, the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute Gala, just happened and they chose to honor the amazing late Alexander McQueen for this year’s theme.  The Met is exhibiting McQueen’s contribution to fashion in a retrospective called Savage Beauty.  McQueen was one of my favorites and his genius is sorely missed.  Im glad he was honored with such an esteemed evening.  Here are some of my favorite looks from the night.

Brick and Black, Met Costume Institute Gala

Jessica Stam in Tommy Hilfiger, dusty blush perfection.

Hamish Bowles in Alexander McQueen, plaid cape suit? Yes please!

Elle and Dakota Fanning both in Valentino, the most put together sisters in the biz, love em.

Rolf Snoeren and Viktor Horsting in Victor and Rolf Monsieur, I need those pants, like now.

Karen Elson in Alexander McQueen, effortless.

Ashley Olsen in vintage Dior Couture, love the sleeve detail.

Anna Dello Russo in Alexander McQueen, so what if she has an egg on her head, the girl can do no wrong.

Hailee Steinfeld in Stella McCartney, age appropriate sophistication.

Daphne Guiness in Alexander McQueen, she is like a fluffy pixie and I adore everything that is happening here.

Christina Ricci in Zac Posen, takes me back to her Adams Family days, love it.

Coco Rocha in Alexander McQueen, statuesque.

Mary-Kate Olsen in vintage Givenchy, no one does old lady hipster chic quite like Mary-Kate, and I dig it.

Blake Lively in Chanel Haute Couture and Karl Lagerfeld in Tom Ford, wrapped in a swarm of chiffon with a side of Uncle Karl.

Rihanna in Stella McCartney, I’m so into that braid.

Hilary Rhoda in Alexander McQueen, tailored but not uptight.

Long Live McQueen.
