Edun arrives at Mario’sPosted: October 18, 2011
Brick and I had the pleasure of being introduced to the line, Edun, this past Friday at Portland’s own Mario’s. With the help of the very knowledgable ladies that represented Edun, we found the line to be fun and lively while still maintaining a modest angle that professional women seek. The FW’11 collection had a few sweaters that we found to have a desirable and simultaneously uncommon pattern which could be marketed toward a 20-something student, such as myself, as well as our classically styled mothers. The floral pattern found on the blouses and dresses held your attention without causing you to think too hard and the cuts all completely feminine without being clingy. Within the dress design was a few layering possibilities and a tie back option that created a variety of looks within one garment. The men’s collection consisted of easy pieces that would fit into any gentleman’s closet. There were some great staple shirts and pants as well as plaids and interestingly pieced sweaters. The stand out items for men were the jackets, our favorite was sleek and modern with a sophisticated sweater roll collar. All in all, we were turned on by the line and further more, they are working to globally source their products while providing Africa support with some working opportunities. Read more about their sustainable practices here.
And a big thanks to Simon from Mario’s for introducing us to the line.
