The whimsical cut in Brick’s suit was meant to play the lead role. Another design by Adam Arnold, the perfection of fabric edits the playful nature and gives it a timeless appeal. I love the practicality of the pocket slits. But then there are the buttons, oh the gold-plated buttons! Such a tasteful finish.
I am wearing THE trench. This particular Mike & Chris design is one in which I get to indulge in year around. Light enough for the spring rain, and finished with a generous hood to protect me from the wintertime downpour. The sinching around the wrists and along the hems is the subtle feminine touch I look for when purchasing a traditionally masculine garment.
We obviously had too much fun while shooting this concept, and I wanted to highlight the talent of Peter Black at Counterpart Photo. We couldn’t do it without you!

Dressed in tradition, we sit in seersucker,
with a bit of suspenders, and not without bearing our spring legs.
Stripes on top of stripes is more doable then you would imagine.
Just make sure you play with the textures, size, color and width of the stripe.
Brady chose a thicker navy striped cardigan, with a thinly stiped tank, and even thinner striped seersucker shorts. He pairs the classic navy look with some fun pink and white striped suspenders and THE spring shoe that every man of every age should own; Top Sider’s. Round the look out with a straw fedora, and it’s timeless.
Another way to go all stripe is to play with the color. Both pieces I chose had the same size stripe, but differing shades of grey. I picked up these summer ‘bloomers’ a few weeks ago and have been playing with ways to pull them off. I chose to pair it with a lighter grey striped button up and some white suspenders to amplify the old timey nature of seersucker.
Now the only thing missing, is a tall glass of lemonade!
Happy Tuesday to you all.
When we think of the color beige we tend to think of tired, stale staple pieces like some banal tan slacks or lifeless traditional trench coats. I mean, it’s barely even a color right? But who made that rule? Why can’t beige be exciting? Who ever said lack of color had to mean lack of spirit? Beige can be just as far out as any neon color if you ask me. Take note from these bad-ass khaki numbers and take the blah out of beige.

Anna, two words: You rule.
It’s all in the styling, if you ask me. Keep your beige away from tucked in polo shirts and matching sweater sets and kick it up with a dose of attitude.
Refuse to be bland and spice up your blah.
Meet Christian Ostrom. He is a buddy of mine from California. Before I met him I had heard rumors of his closet…then we become roommates…then the rumors became a reality. This boy knows how to shop. But more importantly, he wears what he purchases-WELL!. I know plenty of people that may have good taste, may even purchase those token items, but they just sit in their closet, waiting for the ‘right’ time. What good does that do?
Christian was headed to a friends wedding and instead of opting for the safe black suit (oh-so-boring) he rocked this unexpected 3 piece ensemble. A little bit prep. A little bit of spring. And a whole-lotta class.
